Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, fiends, and malevolent powers expanding in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter ended with a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
Considering 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of the deceased character—whose death started the campaign’s events—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the rogue, and stealing all the powerful objects to auction.
The traitor then cleared his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- Teor is marked for death by the family.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Questers and Planners groups.
Audiences can expect finding out which characters will be in which group in Campaign 4’s last Overture episode, released on the upcoming Thursday.
