19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been earned on hard surfaces

A revitalized the Russian player won his first trophy for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has endured a challenging year, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serve in especial - led to him exiting of the top ten and ultimately separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently collaborating with his coach and his other coach, he has consistently progressed in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This represents his initial championship after the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of that year.

Success also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one victories at 21 various events.

"For the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Medvedev.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had been defeated in his past six finals, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on court had caused observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete positively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour victory, took control to force a decider.

The opponent defended four initial opportunities in a competitive final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
